TOUGH RUCK CHARITY

The Tough Ruck charity event historically was a part of the Boston Marathon. The 2013 terrorist bombing at the marathon changed all that. With backpacks and rucksacks now banned from the Boston Marathon, the event was moved north to Concord, MA and held the day before the marathon.  The Tough Ruck event commemorates fallen military, EMTs, police and firefighters. It supports the families of the fallen by offering financial aid & other resources to family members in need. The organization not only provides tangible support but also ensures that the legacy of the fallen is honored & not forgotten.

For the 2025 race, 1,000 ruckers raised $986,000 for this fundraiser. Chapter member Gary Clark participated by honoring many of the fallen, as depicted in the picture of his rucksack with the fallens' ribbons attached.  He raised $5,000 in donations which placed him in the top 1% of individual contributors. The next day Gary ran the Boston Marathon. Gary hopes to run this race again in the near future & will encourage other members to participate &/or donate to this very worthy cause. Anyone who is interested in supporting this endeavor may contact Gary at garycclark@gmail.com or seek further information at https://toughruck.org/.
